About Me

As a stage designer, I create worlds where color breathes life and scale becomes a force all its own. My work is rooted in the power of bold, saturated hues and grand, flowing compositions that immerse audiences, allowing them to inhabit the stage as if it were a living character.

I draw inspiration from the meshing of light, texture, and movement, crafting scenes that are vibrant yet dynamic, where every corner and curve beckons with intentionality. The struggles of my personal life experiences with death and identity, and the hidden beauty of day-to-day life are my primary drive to create worlds for people to lose themselves in.

For me, the stage is a canvas that transforms with each play of shadow, and each sweep of color. I aim to design environments that transcend the frame, inviting viewers to lose themselves within these expansive, fluid spaces, echoing the emotional landscapes of the stories they tell. I believe that design is not just a backdrop but an active pulse of the narrative—an invitation to experience each performance in full, vivid immersion.

I’m Jordan Rodriguez, and I’m pursuing a BFA in Design & Production with a concentration in Scene Design at University of North Carolina School of the Arts, expected to graduate Spring of 2025.
